HELP! Water in trunk
Well, it is not pouring in. I just felt a bit of moisture and thought I wanted to prevent further problems.
Anyone experienced the same?
moisture / water building in trunk, close to the backwall, rear seats.
Easy repair? Parts?

on my 32 there are 2 small drains near the bulkhead at the front of the trunk in the channels. not sure if you have them or not but on mine they can become clogged and let water drain into the trunk
Thanks for answering, well, it is a complete different car. or?
"2 small drains near the bulkhead" where? :P

There is a body control unit back there too.... find the problem and fix it before it floods and causes you headaches. I dont recall which unit it is..... just remember reading some time back on here about it...
I had this problem. If you take the entire trunk apart and take out those foam inserts I had a puddle of water under there. I took my spoiler off and but some silicone under there and checked those rubber gasket things up near the hinges. It fixed the problem.

Strange this is a guess but maybe your drain in the gas cap area is pluged and the gas tube is loose. If that is the case then it might be dripping down the gas pipe to the gas tank which is right behind that carpet. Try poring some water where you put your gas there is a little hole that should drain the water out. The problem I had was when i would open my trunk water would come out of the panels on the trunk lid so thats why I put silicone under my wing. Did you check your headliner to see if there were signs of leaking.
As far as I can see no evidence of water leakage from the trunk rubber seal. I will check wing and gas tank later on this evening. What control body unit is mentioned earlier?
Hi everyone. I have found the origin of the troublesome leakage. Firstly the glued back windows had a slight leak but now sorted after I went to a window repair shop. They helped me on the spot without charging. Secondly I found leakage from the trunk. It is wherefrom the electric cables goes from the trunk into the car the leakage starts. Those rubber seals were not tight enough. I aligned them better and used my silicongun aswell. I emptied the trunk Of all interior and found a puddle of water. The car is now in a dry garage drying. Hopefully the silicon will make the trick.
You mean the rear side window seal and the rubber boot, top left corner of hatch, that covers the plate light and air/vauum lines where the two sources of leaks?
Hey, Guys...
My car is a Roadster and I had latch problems (see the crazy thread in "Roadsters").
Anyway, when I took the trim piece off the bottom of the hatch/trunk lid, I found streaks in the dust in there, indicating water was getting pas the seals around where the spoiler is mounted. I also have a LOT of corrosion on the bracket that holds the spoiler motor/gears/sensors. It has obviously been getting wet, probably when the car is being washed, as it's almost never been out in the rain (until this last Dragon).
The corrosion makes it clear that this has been going on for some time!
Not sure what I'll do about it, but thought I'd post something. I am not familiar enough with Coupes to know how similar things are in the mounting of the spoiler and the trim pieces, etc.
