Angry Thumping Noise?

I currently have taken my car in 8 times for a thumping noise in the rear of the vehicle. It happens at a stop light with car in drive that it makes this noise (sounds like in trunk) and is so loud and can move the vehicle that sometimes feels like someone hit you from behind as the entire car moves. They changed the sway bar, said it was the differiential and took out the actuator power doors and now they are changing out something with the emissions but it still makes this noise. Makes it with both a cold engine as well as running for a while. Has anyone had this problem? HELP.

Does it happen when you accelerate or even when it's not moving?

It sort of sounds like the carrier bearing on the drive shaft. I dont know that that would feel like you were getting hit though. It could make the thumping if worn bad enough. I lost a couple of U joints on my F250 due to a bad carrier bearing and it made a thumping when it got bad.

It alsmost sounds like differential pin failure. Check this out: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...n-failure.html

Yep.... could easily explain the feeling of getting hit from behind.

Talking Re: Thumping Noise?

Old guys get to say odd things and they are expected..........Here goes.

Occures when sitting still - probably not the rear. But noise is in the rear.

Id give a good look at the fuel pressure regulator, vent line, and associated hoses. Thinking the fuel is sloshing, there is a pressure controller in the rear and your sitting still otherwise.

All located under the passenger seat area under a large plastic shield in the same area. Let me know, Woody ta da

OH yea, fuel tank baffel (s) ??? behind your seats
