Default Cracked air pump?

My ltd just had the cel come on so I took it to the dealership. They say that the code was thrown because of a cracked air pump? Has anyone else had this? Is there anyway I can check it out myself?

The stealership wants 1300 to fix it, seems steep to me. Are there aftermarket parts available? Can I eliminate the egr/airpump and not throw a cel?

I'd reset the code and see if it returns. I had a few codes pop up and after I've cleared them they haven't come back in over a year now.

You should be able to get a replacement air pump and replace it yourself for under $100. This scenario of a "cracked air pump" sounds like a bunch of BS to me though.

Buy a code reader and while your at it I by some J B weld if the pump is just cracked..

The code reader cost is about -1000$ if you use the dealer pricing. Should be able to get the parts many places, one dude is parting out his car here on the forum.

If it is a crack depending on where it is youll be better off just gluing it, depending on where it is. Shoot us a photo so we can tell you. Alternately you can see if Needswings can get you one at a reasonable price. If you dont know how to swap it think of this as a $1300 SELF TRAINING COURSE..

For that money, Id take on many tasks. If you let the forum in on the photo and details, they will assist you immensley.

There is a orange 40 amp fuse for the air pump in with the relay control module fuses that you should check.

I've got one of the black ones and about 5 sets of the bronze auxillary things. Yours for shipping and paypal fees.

Take the parts before the scrap yard does!
