Needed: Mercedes Info
I was at a Mercedes Dealer today to check on some part prices. Very helpful and polite. But they have never worked on a Crossfire and know nothing about it. He thought they had MB straight six in them, not the V6. Anyway, he said he could get anything I needed as long as he knew exactly what car platform it was built on and what engine number.
I know I saw this info posted before, but can't seem to find it now. Please post again if you know and I will print out a copy for myself.
Thanks, James

What parts are you looking for? I'll see if I can get you part numbers so all oyu have to do is call or go to the dealer and you know you're getting the correct part.
Also, while this car is most certainly an R170, some of the electronics are not. 2004 was the only year that used the ESP from the R170 chassis and the convertible top and all it's electronics are the same as the R171 albeit we have a soft top and a manual lever. Also, the SRT6 do have some subtle changes as far as the engine goes. The supercharger inlet snout on the SLK32 uses a thin metal gasket between the TB and the SC intake snout whereas the SRT6 has a rubber gasket of sorts that bolts to the SC inlet snout and then after that, it is bolted separately to the gasket and provides a sort of isolation if you will between them.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Take care

Thanks guys for all the info.
I was driving by MB today and thought I would stop in. All I needed were 2 nuts that hold the halfshafts to the rear hub. I am sure my Chrysler connection can get them, but I was curious about the MB dealership.
