New Owner, a couple of baffling things
Hey everyone,
Ok, so I have just a couple questions about the XF and know it is obnoxious to come onto a board and start asking questions but I have researched this and just can't find a definite answer. I bought a 2004 6sp Crossfire about two weeks ago and have been enjoying it thoroughly. My first question comes in the form of this fabled 1st gear slip thing. I'm coming from a 300zx that had a very strong, mechanical feeling transmission that I got so used to shifting I barely thought about driving that car. I drove this XF from Florida to NJ last week and not once did the 1st gear thing occur until I was in traffic. It never happened in FL (no traffic). It has happened maybe 5 times since then but only ever in traffic. Here's the scenario: I'll be accelerating and it seems like halfway through the pull the transmission will violently slam out of gear and into neutral. Now, I'm asking if this is a common problem because I've seen it on here and I was wondering if it could possibly be me pulling the gear out before I move my leg in some weirdo muscle memory thing and hoping it's more user error than car. I spent the day driving today and paying close attention to it and it never occurred. Anyway, is there a fix/way to find out if there actually is a problem with this?
Question #2: I have the subwoofers behind the seats in my car and the one behind the driver seat is pretty much on it's last legs, just sputters when any bass hits so it is currently disabled because I can't stand that sound. I read some about the speakers on here but does anyone know if there actually is a replacement speaker for this/if there is a walk through on getting them out? (I was quite surprised to see them facing backwards and downwards)
Question #3: This may be dumb, but I noticed in the manual it says you can use your phone as hands free through the speakers and I've tried three times to set this up but can't figure it out for the life of me!! Can anyone give some advice? I have an iPhone, if it makes a difference.
Finally, it seems from reading on here that there is no auxiliary port on the non-nav radio for an mp3-in cable, is this correct?
Thanks a lot for any help. I'm not used to being the new person, I'm pretty well versed in taking apart and putting back together Nissans, but this Chrysler is new frontier for me.

Welcome to the forum Jpkelly. There are lots of good people on here that will help you with your questions. I have an SRT also, so I will leave it for others to answer.
On the radio, replace it with a less than $200 radio that supports bluetooth and an MP3/auxiliary port. I put a Sony in mine a few years back and have absolutely no regrets.
