Default DRL

I miss the daytime running lights of my past three cars. Any thoughts on getting DRL in a USA X-Fire? Perhaps all that's needed is some "DRL Module" (that goes into Canadian units where DRL is required on all vehicles) could be obtained by a USA resident somehow and just plug it in?

 I don't know how easy it would be to add DRL. :?

When we bought our Town Car many years ago, we insisted upon DRL being added. The sales person said it would be easy and added it into our contract at no charge (thinking of the Canadian lights). Well - about 3 to 4 months later we got our DRL, but it took a lot of work on our dealership's part. (And a lot of arguing with the Service Dept.) It was not as easy as it should have been. If you find out how to add it, be sure to post it. I know there are many on this forum who hate DRL, but I think it is just one more safety feature that I do like, but I was willing to not have the DRL because I loved the Crossfire so much.

I guess you missed the part where I said "I miss the daytime running lights of my past three cars." It's a personal preference thing. >I< want 'em, believing by personal experience that they enhance safety, and don't want to have to remember to "Turn the lights on".

If this car had lights that I can't turn off... Alla GM... I wouldn't have bought it. That's why I won't even consider a GM car. I haven't gotten so senile that I can't turn my lights on and off when I need them!

Don't all cars built and sold after 1989 have DRL (daytime running light)? I mean I know my Caravan and my Sebring's have lights on while I'm driving, and they're called DRL.

I just , by habit, turn on the driving lights everytime I enter the car. Its kinda like turning the key and putting on my seat belts. If I had DRL I would prob. still be putting on the driving lights.....
