Blinglights Intake
SLGAY!! - Thats awesome, so gonna use that - my friend actually bought one - he's not a hairdresser, but maybe he stepping out of the closet!!!
I used to respect Jeremy Clarkson, but since he compared the rear end of a Crossfire to a dog sitting down, couldn't believe that, I kinda wanna hit him in the face a little - respectfully of course!

Hey, Thanks Maxcichon,
So is welding the pipes the best/easiest way to do it? I don't have the equipment to weld it. I know a bodyshop guy who could maybe do it for me, not sure what he'll charge. Thought I might be able to get away with off-the-shelf parts!!

If you get this thing together-show us some pictures. Mine is installed in the middle picture of my signature.

But I'd sure much rather a Crossfire than an SLK, over here we say SLK's are a hairdressers car. You can read into that what you will!

Over all, if you are looking for a short-ram for sound and getting the engine warmer faster, these are absolutely the cheapest. I got them at around $110 bucks shipped. I honestly wouldn't buy them if you are looking for serious performance. I have a little increased throttle response and no increased horsepower it feels.
If ANYTHING, they look absolutely fantastic and you get two of them, with awesome fittings for only $110.

So, to sumarize. Horrible performance upgrade, great sound/bling upgrade.
ok, I'll bite on this one. I would be willing to bet that the open element filters mounted inside the engine compartment would run *equal to or faster* in the quarter mile than the K&Ns in the stock airbox. The stock air box is blocked by the stock filter/ K&N(rubber base part). Plus, the less length the air has to travel through intake piping, the better. Yes its hotter under the hood, but less resistance wins every time.
Just my opinion. And please dont give dyno numbers. I have yet to see a dyno fan that can generate a 50mph headwind. Again IMO.

What was it I heard? 2 HP per 10 deg F reduction in IAT's?
Something like that...
And as I recall, I measured temps of 145-165 underhood (engine bay) @ 75 MPH on a 90 deg day. 125 degree IAT with the stock airbox. So, if you can get pure 90 deg air to the intake manifold, that would be a reduction of 35 degrees. 3.5 X 2=7 HP gain.
155 degree (65 RISE) air WILL LOSE YOU 13 HP. 6.5X2=13
As I recall, but I'm getting old!
