Default Blinglights Intake

Hey Guys,

I've seen an intake on ebay by a company called Blinglights - seems to be a short ram type, just wondered if anyone had heard of or has purchased one of these and if it is worth it?

Many thanks

Wow! are they really that bad! - I was just reading the thread about a DIY £150 intake, I may well go down that route, just need to figure out where I can get the piping from.

I must say I was a little dubious about the name Blinglights!

yeah if it isn't well known then it probably isn't worth it. some intakes are known to decrease horsepower as well. go with a needs wings one they are good and you will get some gains from theirs.

all it does it stick 2 cheapo filters behind the radiator, still uses the stock airbox.
waste of money and a gimmick

Considering all it does is ingest hot air off of the radiator (around 170 degree air) you lose power and efficiency. The stock intake system works better. We have such bad heatsoak problems under hood that the filter needs to placed outside of the engine bay.

Cody, That's what Infinate is referring to. The Needswings CAI pulls cold air from out in front of the radiator. Which is technically out of the engine compartment. This unit pulls air from inside the engine compartment. Have you ever raised your hood after a short drive down the road? It get hot really quick and pulling all that hot air into your engine doesn't help at all. It's much better to stick with the original induction system.

ok the one he is referring to doesn't mount outside the engine bay that's why i suggested the needs wings intake. yes i know the engine runs hot. yes the one he is looking at is useless. infinite is right by saying that one is useless

ok im sry i like to debate things. people need to cool the tempers and if you don't like another person's opinion then debate it. we are all here cause we have a crossfire and we have one similar interest. so don't take things to a personal level. i'm certainly not here to just **** people off.

I wanna do the DIY job as per the thread in the forum, but cant find a 3.5" to 3" Y connector pipe. If anyone has such a thing I will gladly buy it for a resonable price!

By the way you guys are awesome, and thank you for all your help and advice. I a relative newbie, got my N/A XF 2 weeks ago and have already been modding away! Will post pics once it's worth looking at. They are really rare in the UK, and they were never that popular, everyone seemed to prefer the Audi TT or Nissan 350Z - but hey not everyones a winner!

The guidance and generosity I have seen on this forum is unreal, I'm glad to be a part of it.

2 of these:

Max-Redline.com - 3" 90 Degree Bend Aluminum Pipe, 2.0mm Thick Tube, 18" Length

Cut off 1/2 of one leg each. Have them welded together to form the y-pipe.

3" to 3.5" 90 deg. reducing elbow:

Reducer Elbow

I hope they ship international?

Well I see quite a few 300C's around, and the odd Voyager and PT but by far the roads are fiiled with Audi's, VW's, BMW's of course Ford and Vauxhal (GM Eqivalent). A Crossfire is as rare as rocking horse poo! I guess it's because nobody realises that its a Mercedes underneath that unique body styling. But I'd sure much rather a Crossfire than an SLK, over here we say SLK's are a hairdressers car. You can read into that what you will!
