FSS Question
I purchased my 2004 6spd coupe 2 weeks ago from a local well respected Cadillac dealer. The car is a local 2 owner well maintained vehicle.
At the time of purchase, I spoke to the service manager about what services they performed prior to my purchase.
My question is this. The FSS flashes -9900 for approx. 30 sec when ever I turn the ignition on. Can I reset this my self? The owners manual says to take it to my aurhorized dealer and have them reset it. The 2 local Chrysler dealers are real jerks and want me to pay a substantial service charge to look at it and reset it.

I've tried at least half a dozen times. I guess I'll just keep trying...
I always seem to be too slow on the first time or two when re-setting.
This works for me...
Position your finger on the button to the left of the speedo, turn the key to on(not start) and and push the button TWICE... bing bing, turn the key off.
Push the button in and HOLD it, turn the key to on again while holding the button in and wait for the beep. The display will reset.

Thanks Mike!. Worked like a charm.
The only problem now is, when I turn the ignition to on, it says: Hi Dumbass, ha, ha, ha...then it flashes 7000 for a few seconds and switches to the odometer reading.

North Plains, isn't that the "City to the Sunset"?
I never did understand why they called it that. I lived in the Gorge for 10 years and always saw the sunset from there.
Thanks again!

Hi at all.
I'm writing from germany
I've got also a problem with the FSS.
I did the service by myself and now I want to reset the FSS. (it was the second service, 2 wrenches)
I did it like it is in the manual.
But my problem is, there are always 2 wrenches on the display
But I did the sevice and wanna reset to ONE wrench.
How I have to do?
Thanks a lot

I take it that it did not beep and reset to 7000?? When you reset successfully, you wont see any wrenches. Just the mileage to next service.....
Try again using my method listed above and hold the button at the end until you get the BEEP!

ok, my problem is:
I resettet successfully the FSS.
But, there are still 2 wrenches on the display.
The counter is again on 15.000 km (thats good)
If I wanna see how many kilometers I can drive till the next service, I see after pressing twice the button, again the 2 wrenches.
But the next service will be the small one, the service "A"
So I don't know how I can get again only ONE wrench.
Also resetting once again didn't get the wished success.
So hopefully you understand my "little problem"
thank you

Schedule “A” typically rotates with Schedule “B.” Follow
Schedule “A” after the first service interval, Schedule “B”
after the second service interval, and so on. In some cases
where the service interval has been extended due to very
light duty driving, a Schedule “B” service may be indicated
following a previous Schedule “B” service. There
are additional service tasks required under Schedule “B.”Schedule “A” after the first service interval, Schedule “B”
after the second service interval, and so on. In some cases
