Default upsolute chip

Just wanted to let you know, got mine chipped this weekend. I drove 200 miles to Dallas to get it done. It went perfectly, took about an hour. The results are suble but significant. Crisper throttle response and the mid to high prm range of each gear seems to pull longer and stronger than before. Very happy with the results! thanks

Do you have a 6 speed? One of the things Upsolute does is modify the Auto shift points, with a 6 speed this means nothing, so I would like to hear from a manual user to hear their thoughts.

Yes mine is a six speed. I had been having trouble with the first 2 gears because they are so short. I would stall it on occasion, very embassing! The chip reprogramming seems to extend the range of each gear a little longer. It runs out stronger in each gear as well, seems to pull harder. The other thing I noticed was on the highway about 90 mph. Befor when you would give it gas, it seemed to hesitate a moment before it took off, made you want to downshift. After the mod, you give it gas and it instantly responds. The shift point are longer and at a higher mph. These are my impressions, nothing measured. thanks

the fellows name is Jason Upchurch, but he is in Dallas, Texas. Not much help for you up north. There are reps in your area, go to Upsolute's website for a listing.

Are you still taking names for the 10 people? I'm going to have this
done anyway, but if I can save $50, all the better. I'll drive to
Charlotte, NC where Rene is.

Let me know if this is still in progress.

Manoluno......how did it go with your chipping? I have the first Crossfire chipped by Jason too and at first he had some difficulty downloading the file since the initial file won't delete while the rest of the files were already deleted. In fact, he has to call Rene for help at that time. That was also the same time when BobbaFettm's Crossfire won't start anymore! He finally figured it out by using another file name to download. Paid $425 since it was done on a Saturday.

Now, I'm kinda doubtful if I got the chipped file or not since my mileage is at 19 miles per gallon instead of 21 in city driving. I gathered a few data using the stopwatch prior to chipping but it didn't show any increase in 0-60 and its even slower. I know my data are not accurate but the change in mileage and speed should at least give a significant improvement than the stock data. I havent dynoed my car yet and I'm still having second thoughts of buying the G-tech Pro the fact that it's not a necessity for me.

I can feel the increase in torque but I can't identify where the increase are credited to whether it came from my K&N filter or from the Upsolute chip. Sometimes, its just all in your mind the fact that my data are pretty much subjective before and after the chipping. I may be wrong but I'll figure this one out.

I did beat the Z4 auto in a 0-60 race but who knows if its the car or driver??

I might try to email Jason if he could check it back for me if my ECU is indeed getting the chip.

To be honest, I wanna drive another Crossfire with stock ECU to compare it with. Right now , I can say I have more torque in the low and high end but its still pretty subjective or maybe my driving style is psyche up in thinking it does have more torque. It's good to have a comparative data before chipping and after chipping to keep you satisfied.

They have the numbers for the SLK 320 but not the Crossfire. The chip tuning we are getting the the same as for the 2003 SLK 320. That's what our entire drivetrain is.

Cyril, Jason had the new file on his laptop, he did not call anyone for help. I watched him do the entire process. No problems with the upload or erasing the existing file. There is no doubt it changed the characteristics of the car. If you cannot easily tell then maybe you should check back with Jason. Are you in Houston? I'll be happy to let you drive mine.

Cyril, I agree totally w/ Manoluna... I would take it back to my rep. You should feel a noticeable difference. I know I do.

Please keep us posted.

Why don't you ask THEM and tell us the answer, rather than ask US who don't make ECU chips :?:

Exactly. However, if I recall Cyril had quite a long drive to get to Jason. On the order of a full day round trip. But agree completely the Upsolute difference IS noticeable.
