Upsolute Deal For 10 Crossfire Owners
I think the question I have about the chip is the expectation of an improved gas mileage and speed. City driving can only give me an average of 19 miles per gallon instead of the 21 that the stock had.
0-60 is an average of 8.0 using the stopwatch which may be unreliable due to the warming temp in Texas compared with the cooler temp last March.
I'll be shopping for the Escort G-Timer now especially that I'll be expecting my magnaflow muffler to arrive next week.

Cyril.... Something isn't right. Your 0 - 60 times are way off. Even if you had the traction control on you should be way quicker than that. I think my times with traction control on and just slaming the throttle is somewhere around 6.8 - 7 seconds. Your car should be running right with mine.
I just gased up today (@ $2.04.9 per gal. 93 octane) my mileage on the last tank was 24.6 mpg.
That's what I suspect that maybe at that time Jason ( the Upsolute guy in Dallas ) had a hard time loading the file in my ECU, made some phonecalls to Rene then load a different file and not the one he had trouble with. I'm just guessing that's what happened and i cant really see whats in that file. A G-timer might answer the question if I had it or not regarding mileage and speed.
Or is there a difference from location to location?
There are different ECU numbers based on when the car was manufactured. As they manufacture new models, they may make adjustments to existing settings and will therefore change the ECU number to coincide with those changes.
Upsolute have programmed a few Crossfire chips and have programs already on file that may match your ECU number. If not, then yours needs to be read and a program developed.
Upsolute ECU Upgrade
pageoneresults is exactly correct. Your Upsolute rep will read and download the files from your stock chip. Then match it with the appropriate remap file, copy that file to the new chip and you're all set. They keep your old file so if you ever need/want to go back to stock they can do that with no problem.
Keep in mind too, that our ECUs and all engine functions are exactly the same as the 2003 SLK 320 and Upsolute has chipped a bunch of them. That's what they used for mine, since no other Crossfires had ever been done before.

Wes, I sent you an email on your Headlights. Again sorry to bother you with that, but I'd appreciate it if you had any info on the subject. Tried looking through here, but couldn't find definitive answer.
