I think I'll print out that serpentine belt diagram, laminate it and stick it under my hood somewhere, or, at least in the glove box

It is not a bolt, it's a boss or protrusion on the casting.

I noticed the leak from the top o-ring before any belt problem. 4000 miles since I did the oil change. I confirmed the cause is the o-rings in the filter housing. I had saved the old o-rings and compared them. The material is different. The old ones are firmer. The newer ones are squishy and now flattened on the outside. For now I put the old o-rings in. The old firm one measures 0.140", the newer one now measures 0.117" where it is flattened. You might say I got what I paid for as the new filter was branded STP, but STP uses the same number as Fram, 8481, so who is the real supplier? I bought a new Mann filter, ML1033. It looks just like the STP and is made in China, just like the STP and Fram. I got my money back, but if not Mann, what brand has the real thing with the high quality o-rings? If I look on-line I see different filter numbers for Crossfire and M-B 3.2. Is the answer to buy the M-B replacements?

Mann Filter HU-718/5x Made in GERMANY and is a "fleece" filter. Comes with "5" new O-rings.
Anything made in China should stay in China .....

Here's a REAL MANN filter for the Crossfire. The one on the left is a fleece filter HU718/5, made in Mexico and on the right is a used one installed by a dealer, presumably the same after 5,000 kl.

I got one of the MANN HU718/5 filters. The o-rings do feel almost hard like the originals and not soft like the ones in the STP 8481 or MANN ML1033. STP and MANN shouldn't offer parts that aren't good ones.

Frankly it may be a knock off if it is made in China.

Not a knock off. Genuine MANN, but the o-rings are soft. STP sells the same thing. It appears we have to look up the Mercedes-Benz numbers to get decent parts for the Crossfire.

This ML1033 filter can be had for $3.91 on line, it is a paper filter, made in China.
It's a piece of c rap.

Buy the Mann HU718/5, it is a good filter.

I have recently purchased another Crossfire and changed the oil and filter. I looked at your photo again just now and it reminded me of the filter that I removed two weeks ago. I still have it and I have studied it and except for one number being different it is the same. The filter did not fit tightly on the filter housing and remained with the engine when I unscrewed it. Obviously this is not the correct filter and my one was probably put on at some Mickey Mouse oil change joint.
The numbers on mine are 8133/5 12208 and 0926.
