Question TVTDesign Closed for Business???

Tried to visit the TVT website and it's shut down... Does anyone know if this is just a temporary website problem or are they down for the count? I know people have had some disagreements with them on the forum, but as far as I can tell they are the only source for bolt-on upgrades for the N/A motor out there... Would suck if they shut down before I got to install a few goodies.

They are closed for good. I e-mailed them about 2 weeks ago about their throttle bodies. Said they were in the process of closing the doors and didnt have parts.

Are they really closed for good? You have to shitting me.....That really sucks.

It was a good place to get good aftermarket parts, which as you all, are very hard to find.

Damn, this sucks

Anthony said he was going to be selling most of his tuning equipment and other things but didn't mention how he was going to go about selling it. I just got a ecu tune, throttle body and srt-6 intake done by him on Saturday; he said I was going to be the last ECU tune he did. You might want to contact him via email or the forum if you want to try to secure any parts he has left over.

Well this is a downer... I at least need to get ahold of a 74mm TB and some injectors.

Yeah thats what i wanted, a 74mm TB. But when he e-mailed me back, he said they didnt have any and wouldnt be getting anymore. Defiantly a big blow to the power mod crowd.

Am I correct in saying that the 74mm TB many have used is simply an OEM unit from another benz?

If this is the case, we should not need TVT to source them, mark them up, and resell them to us

John, after looking into alternate sources, I think you're right. I actually just found some of them on eBay for 125, used, but still a good deal.

I don't mean to steal this thread, but can someone please explain in simple terms, what is the advantage of a 74 mm TB, over what is a stock TB ?

@ IBLUBYU - The stock throttle body size is 68mm, by upgrading to a 74mm TB in addition to a 3" CAI and a larger MAF housing you open up the intake system and make it less restrictive.

@Doc - I think I might have to ****** one of them up, unlikely to find another one for that cheap out there.

Phil, you do not need a 74mm TB for the SRT6... it has one stock.... the 74mm upgrade is for the NA troops....

sorry to hear about TVT...
