TVTDesign Closed for Business???
Is this really a surprise considering some of the problems earlier this year and the subsequent ban? I remember responding to a post where things were getting pretty heated and asked TVT to get with the moderators rather than letting things air out in the public forum. To me it seemed as if things never healed and he was selling off a lot of stuff over the past few months.
I personally had no dealings with them, but did find their products to be interesting to read about. I only wish I lived closer to them as well as NeedsWings just to see what they could educate me on as I considered mods.

Its unfortunate when a business has to close, however I do not recall any real proprietary products. Its not like they had a one of a kind product or something that was the only player in the game, i.e. supercharger pulley ect. Again sad to see them go, but if the business isnt profitable there comes a time and place to wind her down.

When Rudy sold me Paul's TVT kit, I was told it was the TVT300 kit (and by golly, it was based on what TVT claimed it to be in one of their threads). After I bought and installed everything and made a thread about it, someone from TVT said that I only had the TVT250+ kit, not the 300 kit because they "never sold that kit". Seems pretty shady to tell one customer one thing and tell another customer something else for the sake of making more $$$.
That being said, I'm still plenty happy with the TVT parts I do have. It's too bad they closed before I could get my tune from them.
Cream rises to the top, and the sediment always hits the bottom. While I'm bummed that our resources have been narrowed, our opportunities for tuning remain basically the same. All tuning was outsourced IIRC, and many upgrades were OEM Benz that was simply polished.
Businesses like Needswings continue to thrive because Rob represents the customer before, through, and after the purchase. Jerry w/ Eurocharged is another good egg.
I haven't directly purchased anything from TVT but I'm using several of their components. All seems well built, but the drama on the forum was undeniably a stain on their public image. In hard times, that's the difference between staying open and locking the doors.
As someone else stated, more business for the guys still standing!

That's just great now I am stuck with the caster kits, I bought the whole kit for 700.00 and could only use 2 of the arms. Well another learning experience. This Crossfire thing is getting costly.

Don't forget the time he tried to sell Rudy's Supercharger. He lied about the mileage, and the fact that it was Rudy's. Got caught in a big lie on that one, though he did make a feeble attempt to explain it.
There were other incidents as well, but alas.... No matter how good you treat some of your customers..... If you lie or mistreat others..... You get what you deserve in the long run.

I purchased the whole kit 3 arms per side. When installing the arms no matter what combination I used the toe in was so severe that it could not be adjusted out. I ended up making my own and didn't cut his arms. The story on this whole ordeal is much longer with much more emails and discussion than I will go into. If we should meet in person I would surely show you pics and go over the whole situation, but I really do not want to trash someone over a disagreement on installation. Thus I have a set laying on the shelf.
Ouch! I was waiting for my warranty to expire (this coming spring) before adding some of these parts! TVT looked to have the best selection of parts for these cars and the price on the cold air intake was the most reasonable I had seen (and people liked it!).
Sounds like the parts are still out there, just a matter of finding them (and yes, I have seen the Needwings site).
As they say, timing is everything.
