Car hesitates at start

Default Car hesitates at start

i just replaced the fuel filter about 3 weeks ago, and now the car takes a few seconds to start like if its straining to start, what could this be? sparkplugs? i smell no fuel leak coming from the fuel filter

I had the same problem, the check valve in the fuel pump sticks open and the system loses pressure taking longer to crank.

Do I need to change out the fuel pump?

You need to put a fuel pressure gauge on the end of the fuel rail, turn the ignition on and off then see if it holds pressure to verify.
