Wonder no more, type 'coil overs' in 'Search', between 'New Posts' and 'Quick Links' and you will find out what has been done before.

Honestly if you want coilovers go with the KW's. They are significantly better and are the suppliers for the CLK63 Black Series.

KW is legit quality, albeit pricey. Many of the folks over at MBWorld use the Tein coil-over kit, and love it. It's about $500 cheaper.

Tein - at least in the past has had significant quality issues and did not hold up to any kind of serious use.

They got their start (or their big boost) with the honda/acura boys and they had lots of complaints about the quality & damping.

Personally I think you would be better served with a good set of shocks and springs than the Tien.

I too have to wonder why the coil overs if price is a factor.
Many have had very good luck and results with Koni and springs not to mention several others.
