So THAT'S why my wife keeps encouraging me to get them!?

BTW. It's finished and looks great. Tomorrow I paint my windshild surround. Would you believe there are 6 variations Paint code PRH... Blaze or Inferno red?!

TA DAH...here it is! It seems the heat from the engine causes the plastic patchwork to sort of lift or outline the patch. It also did this in the spray booth on bake cycle. So to avoid cracking, It will be put on only at shows like my flamed door sills.

The red pearl in sun

Installed

the backend is reflecting an odd color and the heatshield

Tomorrow window surround and dead pedal install

Thumbs up Re: coolest engine cover yet!

Looks Great Brother! I have been contemplating this route for My Crossfire as I get ready to retire it from DD to Garage Queen! Thanks for the Preview. I am thinking a 7 layer with a similar Layout in the fith or sixth But in Blue and white on a Blackcherry metalic.

Even better to see these pics than the one you sent to my phone. With the exception of the paint job, you did almost exactly what I was hoping to do...just don't have your skills.

Excellent job my friend, I just wish I could see it in person. I see some more awards coming your way.

My windshield suround didnt work out so well. They painted up great but we matched them to the fender not the roof. Seems when I had my fenders and doors flamed, that shop chose a shade one shade off and blended it at the back of the door. I never noticed it until last summer when our painters spotted it right off. So short story long the surround looks dead on at the base but the top piece is obviously a bad match.

So after all the work I ended up buying chrome surrounds for 282.00 total from a guy on ebay.

Next/final exterior project is to paint the door handles red

Sorry to hear this, Ghost.

One of my last exterior mods will be the door handles as well, trying to decide on CF or simply body color. Any idea how difficult they are to remove? I have not even looked.

I looked at the service manual and it seems like a 2 screws behind the door weather stripping and it dislodged but that just sounds way to easy for a german car....they love to overengineer!

Are your strakes done in chrome as well? If not, when you paint the handles, you should consider doing them as well....

yes, they are chrome. got them off a forum member a while back. BTW, I created a disaster trying to get the handles off by following the service manual which -really isnt all that accurate.

I somehow jacked up the latch mechinism so the door wouldnt open from outside. 2 master techs stayed 90 min after work and finally fixed it. Im going to let them get the handles out tomorrow cause Im stumped.

be careful, I barely tinkered with mine and jamed it up fast
