Default Starting issues

Hey,

I tried starting my car today, but it wouldn't start. After putting my foot on the clutch and turning the key all the lights, sounds, and fans came on, but the car wouldn't start. If I left the key in the on position the engine fan gradually gets louder and louder.

I don't really have a lot of cash to blow right now because I just spent about $1400 on new tires for it a few days ago. I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem, so I don't have to spend hundreds trying to find out what is wrong with it.

OK, it would not start but did the engine crank over?

You need to pull your Relay Control Module and resolder some pins.... I have to find the thread that 'splains it for you.... (unless DJ beats me to it)

Okay, here is the link to DJ's DIY...... it is pretty easy if you can solder. If you can't, find a friend that can...

If your near Portland, OR I'll fix it for you....

It is easy to miss the obvious, so have a look at the clutch pedal interlock switch.
If that has failed somehow then you have will have all the lights but no engine turning over.

A friend of mine told me this may be the problem, but neither of us could find it. Could you tell me where it is?

The shop manual is not too specific but it is attached to the clutch pedal and is accessed under the dash. You will have to remove two panels to see it.
Section 6, page 24 in the shop manual.
The 2004 Service Manual is available here for download and saving to your computer if you have not already done so.

Don't you just love it when you get a reply saying if your suggestion worked or not.
