Default Vehicle number

Hello Everyone!

We've had our Crossfire for just a few days, and we love it. Traded in a 2002 Maxima SE 6 spd, which is faster, but the Crossfire handles like a dream and is way cooler.
I have two questions, which everyone but we probably know about:
How do we find our vehicle number, and what is the "SSB" people keep talking about?
Thanks

Welcome to the club happy Crossfire owner ! 8)

The vehicle number is the last 5 or 6 digits of the VIN which is located at the base of the windshield (best viewed from outside) or also in the door sill I think.

The SSB is the Sapphire Silver Blue color that some think is the best or only color for the Crossfire.

...which is obviously not the case. I mean, come on, SSB isn't even a real color, and I can prove it.

Head down to your local toy store, and get the biggest box of crayons you can find. Open it up. OK, now find black. Got it? See, black is a real color.

Now find Sapphire Silver Blue. What's that you say? There is no sapphire silver blue? Why is that, do you think? Yep, it's because Sapphire Silver Blue is not a color.

If you've got a lot of time on your hands, you can also try to find Graphite, Blaze Red, or Alabaster. Don't spend too much time on it, though, because those aren't real colors, either.

There. That should end this debate once or for all. I have definitively proved via the Crayola Method that black is the best, and only, Crossfire color.

Class dismissed.

Now wait a minute, if we go with the science of color we discover that black is the absence of light and therefore the absence of color, and white is the presence of all color. SSB is close to white so it has many fine "real" colors and Alabaster is almost white, so it has too many colors, so SSB is the perfect color

So says you. I just put that to the Crayola test, and I can say with some authority that if you take all the colors in a box of crayons and mix them together, you most definitely do not get anything resembling white.

This man is obviously a sham! I, on the other hand, have an authentic diploma proving my degree in Crayology, and I'd show it to you if I hadn't left it out in the sun a little too long last week. Now it's just sort of a great big smear.

But on the other hand, Saphire Silver Blue HAS to be the best color, because it has the longest name...

How can "black" compare with "SAPHIRE SILVER BLUE"???

As everyone knows, longer is better.

Your buddy,

James Salvatore Isabella, President
Computer Applications Company, Incorporated

See? Long name and title too!!!!

Curses!

You've won this time, JS, but only because I can't argue that point without really embarrassing myself.

I'll get you next time!

Thank you, everyone, for the informative replies and warm welcome. Not to stir the bubbling pot too much, but if I remember my elementary physics, black is the absence of color and white is the combination of all the colors of light (not all the colors). It's strange, I've always disliked white (alabaster) as a car color, but I love it on the Crossfire. I usually choose black first and silver second for my revolving door of cars.

Thanks again.

And so you are right, I didn't place that detail in my statement.

Bottom line, it doesn't matter the color, or size, you will enjoy your Crossfire.

Don't be shy, we don't bite, often

We hope to see you on one of the hookups, be it left, right, bottom, top, or in the middle.

 Let's See .....

Graphite is a lubricant, and lubricants make everything work, and since it makes the world work, it must be the best!

Without Graphite, the machines to make the "other" colors would not work :!:

So .... in closing, I would like to say that IMO, Graphite is by far the best color . (Guess what color Cee Bee is?)

Lubricants do have their purpose......

Refering back to the "longer is better" comment!

I will leave the rest of the thoughts along these lines for you to visualize in your own minds...

But as to color???? Naaaaaaaa

I apologize to the great and powerful "rulemaker"!

I had been at work for 17 hours and was obviously tired and not in control of my mind......

Right........

But that is my story, and I am going to stick with it!!

HelLO! This is simple. Walk outside on the most beautiful day you can. Look up. What color do you see? Exactly- it's not Black, Graphite, or Alabaster. All of which proves to me---HE drives an SSB.

Oooh, you're good.

Though, having just moved recently from L.A., I feel I should point out that there, it looks like he drives a graphite.

And if we look close, we see Trick is a closet blue lover, look at his "survivor" signature, it's in blue, not black

BTW, it was nice having a Black Crossfireat the Hookup.
