Default P0410 (secondary air injection system)

Just purchased used 2005 crossfire. 5 daysafter leaving the dealership the check engine light came on, took it to Auto zone.Code read P0410 (secondary air Injection system) It was reset. The next morningI was at stop light and the car shut off. Any ideas what might be the problem?Your help would be appreciated.

This thread should offer some insight:

I get this code every so often, and my RCM contacts are slightly dirty/corroded. However, mine has never resulted in the car shutting off. I would suspect there is something else going on. You don't get any other CEL codes?

This has to be a new owners worst nightmare.

You buy from a Dealer, and five (5) days later you have to deal with crap like this.

I'd like to be open and fair, but I just don't believe they were unaware of this car throwing codes.

I'd be all over the Dealer until resolved to complete satisfaction.

Good luck and welcome to the Forum (stay posted and you'll get some decent advice here)...

Check for bad solder joints on the relay control module it is often times the most common problem. A gentleman here named Tighed1 would repair that for you if needed. Research the "me so horny mod" or secondary air injection or Relay control module on this Forum for lots of useful info.

Research on here, these are common, easy fixes. Re-solder the RCM, clean the relay contacts, replace your Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS). Good to go!
