different year transmissions compatible?
So, instead of doing my due diligence, I went on a whim and bought my 04 xfire. It drove great for the test drive, but now does the whole popping out of first gear trick. Neat! It's just past the factory warranty, and Chrysler told me to pound sand.
So my question is, if I can find an 05-07 6 speed, is it a direct swap? Or did things get changed? I tried finding a line on the synchro, but cans find it anywhere. Thanks, and I hope my first post isn't a horridly uneducated one. And, yes, I did search. :-)

Send a PM to Rob at NEEDSWINGS, he should be able to assist you and give you some advise, tell him Woody sent ya. Enjoy; and go to your "User CP" top left of this screen and send a message.
There are two (2) TSB's (Tech Service Bulletin) that seem to be directly related to your concerns:
TBS: 9-Mar-04 - 21-002-04 - Manual Trans - First Gear Disengages During Normal Acceleration
TBS: 6-Jan-05 - 21-001-05 - Manual Trans - Gear Grind Sound When Shifting
Not sure how it works with TSB's, but I think Chrysler should honor regardless of Warranty.
I'm sure someone will chime in and clarify...

I went into a local Chrysler dealership, and the guy in the service department said that technical service bulletins are different than recalls, and they wouldn't be covered. I'm going ti get on the horn with Chrysler in the next day it two to hash things out. I'll keep you guys updated. In the mean time, if anyone has a 6 speed for sale, I'm all ears.

It could be motor mounts too.
I was getting movement from my gear lever under acceleration and found the driver side motor mount to have separated into two pieces. I would recommend getting your up on jack stands and feeling around the top side of both motor mounts and ensuring that they have not separated.
