Fried Sprint Booster
Well if you ever wondered what the insides of your $300 sprint booster looked like, your in luck. I tracked down my acceleration problem to this. You can see where one of the components blew out. I cleaned up the contacts but it wont send out the correct APPSS (Accelerator pedal position sensor signal). It produced code P0222.
The noticeable difference from sprinted to standard driving is depressing! I have no desire to shell out another $300 so im going to try and fix it myself. The blown component is a smd ceramic capacitor. All i have to do it measure the capacitance of the other ones and then buy a few news ones and hopefully it works out.

They are manufactured in Greece. They may have a contact to help you. I will try to find the info from the 1st one I purchased yrs back. I ordered factory direct.
Fix that 'tombstone' cap while you are at it..... you should be able to find the cap you need pretty easily. I would also re-solder that blue wire that looks like it has a funky joint/flux induced hole. I hope it is just the one cap that is bad and it didnt fry the IC.
I purchased this SB from a supplier in HK. I emailed him and he told me there was a 9 month replacement warranty, well I bought it in 09. If you have the manufacture info that would be great! Hopefully they are willing to divulge the component info; finding it out myself is not going to be easy. I thought my multimeter had the capacitance to determine the capacitance of a capacitor but it does not! lol I need a capacitance meter.
And if either IC is ruined then I guess its time to step up to a SB v2. They do look pretty appealing
But the price does not lol. I've been driving around all day and the gas pedal feels like a brick now
Guess I'll have to get back to the original feeling for now. Thanks for the input guys.

info@boulekosdynamic.com I purchased my 1st one direct from them. Hope they will help. Good luck...
I don't know if the are the manufacturer or not, but were very helpful when I first purchased...

Ok so after much research I finally found out what type of capacitor I was in need of. After being transferred from department to department I finally ended up talking to an engineer located in China, Doc Emmett something or the other.. Cant remember his last name.. Anyways, he advised me that he was working on a capacitor that supersedes the ceramic one; something called a flux capacitor? He shipped me one and I sodiered that bad boy in! Here is a pic:

OMG! Not only did I gain an insane amount of HP but I think I traveled into the future? More test drives are in order..
Haha ok so I kid.. The owner of Boulekos Dynamic, Stamatis, is a first class guy. After exchanging many emails with him, he asked me not to fix it and to send it in for testing. He concluded the same results as I and honored an extended warranty; 4 months over the 2 year warranty. A week later I received a new Sprint Booster, still a V1 but that's just fine with me
. If anyone ever has an issue with their Booster, I advice you to talk to Stamatis, he truly is an ethical businessman.
