There will still be perfect visibility for my plate (and the smoked cover on it LOL) and I will still have the pure light I am looking for, just a little less...
Well....OK. Just because it's you.

I would certainly not mind being a preorder, but between already having a new set, no sample to look at, and some of the other times I have been burned through forum transactions, I would prefer to wait until you post some higher resolution pictures of the finished product, especially installed into the housing. I am not doubting you or your ability, but as I have said before, I put nothing but what I consider perfect on my car, and Mercedes already makes a hell of a product with fit and finish being perfect for their housing.

Impress us and you will sell MANY of these. Thank you for taking on the project, and if you have limited preorders, I would still consider biting just to make sure it happens.

Yea thats what i figured. I really want to do this and i am going to. I would like to have pictures to show up front belive me. But in order to get pics it requires money up front for the fixtures in the drill press and cnc machine. I am just needing enough dough to help me with that, without pulling a bunch of my personal funds in. Without pre-orders it is just going to take me a hair longer to do it, thats all.

Also I am just throwing this out there. I am not looking to live off selling these, I just found an issue like everybody else with the originals.I do not really want to spend $40 for a new pair that will last a little while and not fix the problem.

I also listed some of my used Trans Am parts for sale on another foum to help pay for these.

What kind of seal are you going to use? This is a vital part of the design.

On our Crossfire there is a factory black seal that goes around the lens that would be re-used. I thought about selling them also with new oem seals or also checking on having RV roofing material cut to spec. Rv roofing material is thin enough, very durable, and expensive. I just so happen to have a lot of it brand new that would make a 1,000+ seals.

Good attitude to have, hopefully you can understand the aprehension. After the side skirt and side strake buys going very bad, people here are hesitent, especially when money is asked for before product is available to see....

Good luck, looking forward to seeing them.

I would test what the effect will be without the prismatic lens of the original. Check that the bulb does not throw a naked bulb effect onto the plate area. If it does, a light sandblast may be required to get a more diffuse light.

First off thank you very much. The funds will be held and if there is to be any issue past 3 weeks it will be refunded. Hopefully i can get 6+ people to pre-order.

Well honestly i didnt think about the license plate cover because where I am from they are readily available at Advanced Auto parts. They are very cheap as well. Also, i have tinted plate covers on all my cars because i like the look. However i am getting tired of being pulled over for it here in KS.

+1 on the availability of these already, no need to reinvent the wheel. I have had these smoked plate covers for YEARS and never been stopped because of them, but I also always upgrade to LEDs so even with a smoked cover, the plate is always highly visible

Yea. I have the one from the parts store too, but they are cheaply made and tend to crack around the mounting screws. I was just thinking that a smoked Lexan cover would be cool ........

( I even bought a set of the security head mounting screws, for whatever that's worth. I got them cause they are so pretty, I want everything on the car to look pretty to offset my ugly self )
