Default HELP: Car not starting. Not RCM or Crank Shaft Position sensor

Hey guys,

So recently I changed out my valve covers. Took out and cleaned them up.

Note:

The car had been sitting with valve covers off for 1 week (is this a bad thing?)
Car had not been started for 1-2 weeks (maybe a battery issue?)
When running jumper cables, car DOES NOT turn, but clicks on and off
I re-soldered the RCM thinking it was that
I recently just replaced my crank shaft position sensor as well

What could it be guys? I need some help here. My baby cross is waitin to be driven'

Any help is appreciated!

Valve Cover left open is only a bad thing if you dropped something down there and was unaware...

The Crank sensors will not show themselves as the issue of "No engine turnover, only a Click".

The RCM will usually show itself as all electrics/displays will come on, but No crank of engine.

I would pull the Battery cables and make sure they are Clean and Tight with no corrosion. Re-assemble and try another jump.

No luck, I would look at the Starter connections for the same (clean and tight).

Also check all ground connects, that bolt to the body (like the Neg batt cable).

I'm sure others will chime in with other comments...

Have you had the battery checked, a shorted battery many times will not allow jumping with cables to work.

Does your dash lights come on, can you hear the fuel pump ?

If you suspect this, remove just the Neg cable from Battery, and connect Black jumper to loose Neg cable.

Hook the Red Pos jump to the Battery, as one would normally do.

If the car turns over normal, $hit can that Battery, and buy a new one...

I just bought the battery not even 2 years ago.

The dash lights come on, when I turn the key it just CLICKS and every light goes on and off. I'm not sure what the fuel pump sounds like?

I will give this a try. The battery might have went to crap because of the crazy weather here in WA! Did you guys know it snowed?!?!? wierd..

I will let you know if this works!

I love this forum. I can feel my sense of relief coming! haha

I have done that procedure many times. But you must have a quality set of jumpers to make this work.

Alright so it isn't the battery. Disconnected neg cable and connected to jumper, all lights still turned on and click, click, click it went...

I'm a total newbie when it comes to cars. Where is the starter located in our engine bay?

What do you guys think? It's not battery, nor rcm.

When I turn the key, I hear click, click and feel something switching on and off if this helps with diagnosing!
