Default Powerchip or Upsolute??

Which computer chip is better? Opinions from users please? And will adding one of these chips effect my fuel economy? Lastly, wouldn't it be best to chip a car last, after installing an exhaust system, intake system, and headers, so that the chip can be optimised to take advantage of having the new mods on the car?

The poll asks which "do you have", so I answered that way. The question asks which "is better", which would be pretty hard to quantify. Personally, being able to drive to an Upsolute rep vs. mailing parts of my car across the country and waiting for them to return before I can drive my car again (the PowerChip process), and the price ($400 vs. $695), made the difference for me.

I saw an improvement of ~2-3MPG after getting Upsolute.

It doesn't matter when you do the chip in the process, unless you find an actual chip programmer that will specifically tune an ECU for your setup. Neither Upsolute nor PowerChip do that (nor anyone else I've found)... you get the same progamming regardless of any other mods you may have.

I have the Powerchip because it's a more reputable company, the car runs great and I've had no problems with it so far.

I honestly don't know how the Upsolute works, but I've read some pretty good comments, it's up to you to decide.

I have the Upsolute chip from Lanny in chino Hills, CA. It is fantastic. He is a very nice man and he does great reliable work. My car is very fast and much more fun. I can really feel the torque

as far as numbers go, don't know if upsolute is being more honest, but powerchip looks like it gives more horsies. has anyone driven both possibilites?

X'ed...You find me the Dyno shop that can Dyno a Crossfire in the Chicago area, and I will get it Dyno'd (if the cost is reasonable). I've contacted Chrysler and at least 6 Dyno shops and none of them have a Dyno that will work on the Crossfire.

From Chrysler:
The Chrysler Crossfire can not be put on a dyno machine. This is due to
the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) the vehicle comes with. This
system uses the anti-lock brake system and throttle control to adjust
for tire slippage. When the vehicle is on the dyno machine the ESP
system reacts as if the vehicle is slipping due to the front wheels not
being in motion.

As for the strength of the community, shut up!

Sorry X'ed, I'm having a bad day at work. Anyway, I just found two AWD Dyno shops in Chicago from another forum. I will try to contact them this weekend. Here they are if anyone is interested:

There are two AWD dynos here in Chicago. One is a Mustang Roller Dyno at Dynatech:

DynaTech is located at
7511 W. Cermak Rd.
North Riverside, IL 60546
(708) 442-8951

The other is a hub mounted Dynapack at GRD:

Genesis Racing and Development
1032 E. Ogden Ave
Naperville, IL 60563

Don't worry about it. I know some people probably don't like some things i say, but i just hope they understand im trying to be progressive and hopefully can motivate someone to go out there and do things that help all of us. If you got dyno numbers that would be awesome. thanks
