Default GPS wiring

I'm going to install my GPS head unit myself, but I can't see a way of routing the cable from the back of the headunit out to the reciever which I'll place on the dashboard. The opening behind the radio seems sealed and there are footwell air vents either side.

Can anyone give me some advice on where to stick the cable!... polite answers only please :-)

Here is Where My Excelon NAV Unit is Mounted. If You Need Exact Instruction on Routing I'll Post them in a Few Days.

Yeah, that's where I want to mount it. Exact routing instructions would be very useful. I don't want to drill more holes that strictly necessary.

Thanks.

I think mounting there is quite easy. When I fitted my door sills you have to remove the side panel of the dash to connect the wires. Just two screws requiring one turn removed that small panel. The fuse box is also there. If you take a look you can see how easy this should be to do.

You're quite right... for future reference, all you have to do is:

1) Remove the fuse cover
2) Straighten out a wire coat hanger
3) Tape the wire to the end of the coat hanger
4) Put your hand in the radio opening towards the fusebox
5) Poke the coat hanger/wire through from the fusebox opening to meet your hand
6) Relax with a smug grin on your face for a job well done.
