Default Switch Recolor

Well i've been working on changing the colors of my switches to white. And without the previous work of MMZ_Timelord I would have never thought of doing it.Well I came to two parts that were not co-operating. The Climate Control and the Shifter. I came up with an idea for these two spot that will not require the extensive work of soldering and de-soldering led's. For the Climate i made three strips of led's that I purchased in a 16 ft roll. As you can see in the pictures its bright and now you can see a ring around the numbers so I am going to paint the back of the ring black so it cuts down on the light that comes through it or try to figure out something? As for the shifter I'm going to do the same but with one 3 led strip. You can see the 4 small surface led's right on the cuircut board by the shifter.Well I'm not even going to try to remove and replace them...lol. I have a piece that fits right in under the letters by the shifter and that will make them white.

* I also found the wire that will dim your led strips, for you guys who have them mounted under the dash in the footwells. The gray wire with the blue stripe gives the power you need for your lights and alows them to dim with the switch from the dash. There are a few of them in the center dash behind the radio and the climate control.

Looking good! I changed all of mine to blue. For the climate control I used these Amazon.com: 3 SMT LED T5 Mini-Wedge Bulb Blue 1408BU: Automotive It came out a little dim and the light is not distributed perfectly even but I can live with it.
As for the shifter, I replaced those tiny leds with blue ones. It was actually pretty easy using tweezers. It came out perfect.
Ill try and upload some pics when it gets dark.
Post some pics when u finish the climate controls. I like the idea you have and its certainty much brighter than mine.

Chris

Well all the switches are done along with the radio replacment. I installed the Kenwood 550U marine radio. It has 3 lines of text in white, with blue and white buttons. And it is silver ,that matches the dash perfectly. Now I have to do the speedo gauges, hopefully I can get them out and cleaned up in a day. Thats my plans for Fathers Day.....yeah. The switches are pretty bright in the pictures, but to the eyes they are very clear.

Well I finished the Speedo and Tach. What a pain in the spinchter. I painted the ring aroung the gauges and the tach, the gas and temp blue and left all the numbers white. I painted the temp icon blue and red , blue for the water and the thermometer red and the MPH and RPM re just to give it some color.
