Default AVIC and battery life

Question to all of you AVIC users!

I've yet to try to see how long our battery would last while this is playing and the car is on standby but not started completely up... A few hours? ... I've never really tested a car before to see how long its battery would last with a radio going only.. Any help would be hugely appreciated :?: :?:

I too would be interested in finding out. I'm a 2-day old XF owner and a 1-day old AVIC owner. I'm a little leary of watching any movies in the car with respect to battery drain.

A couple of hours MAX imo. I had full DVD multimedia in my previous car, and after watching a film for 2 hours, always left the car running to charge her alittle.

The battery is pretty beefy in the XFire, but it needs a fair bit of juice to crank her over !

Imagine what reading the manual does ...video is always cut off when you are operating the car, however, if setup the way the manufacturer intended, DVD will play when the parking brake is on (ie, with the engine running), just as is needed to plan routes and do more complex Nav operations. So there is truly no need to tax the battery unless you really want to.

Okay! well I tested this out.. I watched all of Old School... then I had the car on for the entire I, Robot movie with my date... during the I, Robot... I only had my cold cathode lights on ... just 4 of them... and my battery lasted NP!!

So... Old School was like... 90 something mins. long... plus then a good 90 mins of cold cathod lighting also....

it lasted awhile

LOL and if you really think I bought a $1200... well its like 2500 for most people ... DVD player! and not have it run all the time... then your wrong lol Mine is made to play ANYTIME I want... not just when the car is parked....
