Valentine Radar Detector
Has anyone purchased a radar detector and mounted it inside the engine compartment, I am running my Crossfire in Europe and I want to stay in the background with my detector?
I don't think that would work given that most radar detectors operate on a 360 degree bandwidth (wrong term, forgive me, I"m drunk) it may still take a forward reading but also there may be interference from the engine electrical system. just my $.02

I have a few reviews on my site, i use the bel 550 euro, i believe they have a model that has a remote antenna which can be mounted behind the front grill as 90% of traps are head on.

Where is the passenger compartment?
Valentine 1 has sensors in both front and back side. You need to dismantle the rear sensor if you want to install it inside engine compartment.
According to them, it's best to install it as high as possible on the windshield. I did mine next to the rear view mirror:

Anyone in the UK make usre you only buy a detector that you can switch X band off! otheriwse you'll know where every set of traffic lights and door opener is! you only need K and Ku in the UK you have been warned.
