Default Valentine Radar Detector

Has anyone purchased a radar detector and mounted it inside the engine compartment, I am running my Crossfire in Europe and I want to stay in the background with my detector?

I don't think that would work given that most radar detectors operate on a 360 degree bandwidth (wrong term, forgive me, I"m drunk) it may still take a forward reading but also there may be interference from the engine electrical system. just my $.02

I have a Valentine but it's mounted in the passenger compartment... works great. I take it the uber bureaucrats in Europe who always know what's best for you have decided detectors are a bad thing?

I have a few reviews on my site, i use the bel 550 euro, i believe they have a model that has a remote antenna which can be mounted behind the front grill as 90% of traps are head on.

Valentine 1 has sensors in both front and back side. You need to dismantle the rear sensor if you want to install it inside engine compartment.

According to them, it's best to install it as high as possible on the windshield. I did mine next to the rear view mirror:

I have an extra display under my head unit:
