The real obvious thing here is, this forum has been around since '04 when the cars were produced, maybe even late '03.... Wouldn't you think this would be a "hot" topic, maybe even a "sticky"?
Anyway, HP doesn't come that cheap for these cars....Their claims are a little exagerated...

If you want more HP, do a search on modding these cars and you'll find out what is real and what isn't. If you want a real horsepower gain == look up Eurocharged. They reprogram the computer, they don't defeat it. I had mine remote tuned in July and the tune made a significant difference. Gain claims are about 24 HP.

You are wrong about your statement that "Adding HP = less mpg. That's not true. You can add HP and get mpg gains with some mods.

One thing is for sure. If getting HP was legitimate and that cheap, I think you and everyone else would know about it by now.

I'll have to disagree, adding horsepower doesn't kill mileage. I haven't gotten around to installing a CAI on my xfire but when I had my Scion TC my average mpg went up almost 2mpg.

I know which "chip" he's talking about I thought it was funny to see that ad on this forum.

.
Yes most CAI do add mileage, along with HP being the HP is more than you though it would give you (on the crossfire) your foot makes your mileage go to away every time you drive the car the mileage goes down, i am getting 9 mpg this is not a joke 9 miles per gal,,,now if my wife drives my crossfire she gets 20 in town and 25 on the road. I get 9 it doesn't matter if i am on a city street, a highway or the track i get 9 mpg. jim
