Bent or warped rims
Yesterday I had newly reconditioned 2006 SE rims and new Hankook tires put on my SRT. Geeze what a difference. For 2 years I have been driving my baby with a slight veer to the left and a little rumble/shake coming from the rear. Numerous balancing and alignments didn't solve the issue 100 %.
Four years ago I bought a set of rims off Ebay for $125. These were off a 2006 SE roadster and are identical to SRT rims except the inner portion is charcoal and the facing silver. I had the facing painted red and they were on Ashley's SRT for about 2 years. Her original rims were refurbished 18 months ago and put back on her car. So the SE rims were just sitting in my office.
Having a slow leak on the left front of my SRT turned out to be a cracked rim. I sent out the SE rims to Turbax here in Miami to be refurbished. The cost was $600. I had bought a rim from MRMOPAR that unfortunately was bent. But, he without hesitation refunded the money I paid him. Class act. So it his fault that I am so pleased with the results of the refurbished rims. And will shortly have an extra set of SRT rims stored in my office. Just in case I or Ashley has a flat or other wheel mishap.
I was told by Turbax that both fronts and one of the rear SE rims were bent/warped or not straight. They did an outstanding job and I would highly recommend them. They kept the inside charcoal and the facing silver. The rims look absolutely awesome.
No more veering to the left. No more shake or rumble from the rear. At 120 mph this morning on the turnpike it was true. Kind of like a Disney train on straight tracks. SMOoooOTH. She felt like a brand new SRT off the show room floor.
