Cool strange things happening

I was driving my crossfire and the speedometer went to 0, a lot of dummy lights came on, the wing came up (but faulted at button) the car was driving fine. Shut car off for a few minutes then restarted and everything was back to normal and worked just fine. This has happened 3 times so far and I don't want to end up stranded. I love this car and don't want to get rid of it either. Anybody know what might be causing this problem?

well, at this time my wing comes up when I start the car, never happened, and whenever it likes, it dissapears back in the trunk. I started to use the switch to put it back into the trunk, but however, this wing does what it wants. Also I have seen my tachometer light half in the dark and half on. It's weird, but I don't think it's a sign to get stranded. I hope not. Anyone any idea what is going on?

those are voltage/amp related. So, if you have an old battery, might be time to replace it. Or, you could have some moisture issues, so check around under the mat in the trunk area...and there are some other things, but I would start there. If you battery is good, clean the terminals....

I would say my battery is pretty old. I bought a 2006 unlimited with 700 miles in 2008, I don't think anyone ever touched the battery. So its 6 years. I guess its time, I have also had 5 times problems with the car not starting at all, dead. The first time it was under warranty and was 2 weeks at the dealer. That time the remote did not work and the key did not let me into the car without alarm. The car did not start, did not recognize the key. I have no clue what they did, but I think they changed the ignition part. For me its an issue with the RCM. However after 1 year again, car does not start, the lights went on, ignition just a ticking, another time the car totally dead. I disconnected the battery and connected it back and yeahhhh, everything worked again.
So back to my new issue:
I guess I get a new battery, where I find a good one and what brand would be a good one? I know its a H6 48, right?
Thanks again for all your help, I love this forum, I learned so many things......

I would start with a new battery if you are on the original.
I have always liked the interstate megaton plus.

I think Costco has the best battery for the buck for our Crossfires. Great warranty, 3 years, 100 month prorated. There's only a couple of manufactures for batteries in the US. So many businesses like Costco (Kirkland), Napa, AC Delco, AutoZone, etc., often times are selling the same battery, wrapped in a different package. JMHO

dont wait to get the battery replaced. my wing would come up when i started the car. saw here on the forum it was battery related. Two or three days later the car died and needed to be jumped. get the battery checked/replaced ASAP.

They never came back so we can assume that they got their answer and never bothered to say thanks or what the real answer was.

If they do come back it will be to ask for the answer to another problem.

Hi, yes, I bought a new battery (but mine was old) and all strange things did not accur anymore. If you have strange things happen, check your battery or if its not an old battery, than clean the battery where they get attached to give power (sorry don't know the name for it). Another issue could be water related. Check the forum for that. Another problem I was told here is the RCM, again check the forum, there are many threads with pictures about this issue. I hope this helps.
First check the simple things like battery and than go from there. I would not go to the Dealership because these guys have no clue and you pay lots of money!!!
I hope this helps.

This message is for onehundred80. I really don't appreciate your comment. You are judging directly people you don't know and you have no idea if they communicated via private message. And sometimes people are traveling or other things happen in their life.
Regarding myself I have always said thank you for who helped me in this forum, and by the way I received so many times help, I couldn't make it without my Xfire friends.
So please chill out and think twice before judging others in public.

I agree with 180 here. If you don't post your results on the board, how does the next member with a similar problem find an answer???????????????

If everyone communicated via private message, YOU would never have found your answers. I see this happening more and more on this forum.

but I haven't replied in private and if you go ahead and look at the previous mmessages I already said thank you for the help I received previously. So 180's message might be for the other guy , but not for me.

Thanks for the info! I'll check the battery if that happens again. I fixed the RCM due to the no start issue last year.

I think I can include you, your last post before today was when you were stranded with battery issues on November 20th. You replied after my post here and said you had changed the battery and it had solved the issue.

You had three months to answer your previous post and you did not and now your shorts are in a knot.

This was the post three months ago.
Re: need new Battery/ Autocraft Gold H6 48 is this Battery good for my XF 06 roadster limited? I am stranded and can't find only this one at advanced auto parts

By sheer chance I was the first to answer that post within 20 minutes of you posting it and told you that the battery was OK, I never got a thanks or for that matter a PM.
My reply.
H6 and 48 are good numbers for our batteries, the only thing to check is the height as some require a spacer under the clamp. Other than that you are good to go especially in an emergency.

I do not need to be thanked, but it does help. A simple reply to some of these posts will tell all of us that it was the appropriate solution or not.
Sometimes these posts for help, not yours, seem more like demands than pleasant requests, I do not bother to answer those. There is nothing wrong with a simple please and thank you.
