Alarm goes off/Lights flash randomly
Hey guys! I ran into this odd problem that started a few days ago. I did find a few threads talking about similar issues but no actual solutions.
Symptoms:
All of this happens at random times and in different combinations:
1. Lights (side markers/parking lights etc.) flash w NO alarm sounding (can be disabled w a fob by lock/unlock but other times it causes issue #2).
2. Alarm randomly goes off for various periods of time (sometimes it can be disabled w a fob, sometimes not until it stops by itself).
3. Car acts normal and doors unlock w a fob but opening the door randomly causes issue #2.
-While the alarm sounds I CAN start and drive.
-There seems no to be no water in the trunk
-Battery is only 6 months old (Interstate battery from Firestone)
-Fob batteries were replaced (was my first thought) to no avail.
Alarm system is stock.
No electrical mods besides LED/HID lights that I had for several years now w no problems.
Any ideas?
I pulled the #9 fuse for now but even though i can manually lock the doors, the trunk stays open. Am i safe to drive around without that fuse?
The randomness of these symptoms is driving me (and everybody else in the neighborhood when alarm goes off at 2am and won't shut off) insane!
EDIT: Found a thread (didn't come up in a search) that describes same issues. Sounds like im getting a new alarm siren asap.

Might be time to open up the trunk foam blocks above the central locking module in the passenger side of the 'trunk'. If ever there was water down there, you might have corroded wires/connections causing this many problems. Since the siren sounds so robust (although it may still be the siren) you just might have a SKREEM module problem. If there is no damage at the central locking module, I would try unplugging the siren for a little while. If it stops, replace siren. If not, really check the central locking module. If that looks/operates/seems to be 100%, only thing I can think is the SKREEM module. Its going to be either easy, or expensive I fear!

Hi, I had this problem back in 2008... Car sat at the dealership, unable to be fixed for almost 4 months!!!! They changed every imaginable part including the the computer to no avail... Eventually, 4 months later and a half striped down Crossfire they located the cause. It turned out to be a short in the door switch!!! The drivers side door switch (the one that turns off the interior light when the door is closed) was shorting out and triggering the alarm. It would even do it while I was driving the car. Anyway, I hope my misfortune helps you find the root of your problem. If it's not the door switch, look at any other switch that is linked to the alarm system.
Best,
Dave
