Default Ignition Lock Assembly Help...

Hey All,

I'm new here and just purchased a crossfire. It has the sticky ignition issue...
I can do the work myself, but I don't know where I should order the Lock Assembly from.

Help please...

You don't have to replace the lock assembly.. Thats kinda the purpose of the fix..

Version 1 or 2 ? LOL..

Last page should have "re-using old assembly"

I'm saying no need for new assembly.. This is on my list of things to do.. but it looks like as long as you can rotate the key to "position 1" you wont have to drill .. just modify and remove the pin and spring..
I'm not locked up..just somewhat catchy at times.. gambling on borrowed time.. LOL

mine would sort of hang up once in a while too. did the mod as a preventive. do it before the key wont rotate and you wont have to drill the pin. cmz

+1 to that. Mine was getting 'catchy', so I broke down last week and did the fix.

3 notes :

1. Where it says to press the 2 ears to release the transmission locking cable, you don't try to slide it back like it was an electrical connector, you pull down ( away from the lock assembly ) to release.

2. I found it much easier to remove the ignition electrical harness if you wait until you can rotate the assembly in the clamp.

3. Use an ice pick or something to line up all the panel holes and brackets during reassembly.
