Anyone considered one electric supercharger on each intake?
I was looking up superchargers online for the Xfire and I ran across electric superchargers. They seemed kind of cheezy but had an idea... what if you put an electric supercharger on each of the intake tubes and beefed up the tubing that makes up the intake? Any ideas anyone? Just a crazy idea but do you think it might work?

Looks cheezy but if someone has a couple of extra bucks and some tinkering on the car time it would be well worth it if it were to work!

here's another one. After reading a little about it they use the electric superchargers more like nitrous to where the turn it on just like you were using nitrous to boost your HP. From what I've read so far it drains your battery fast so it wouldn't be on like a normal supercharger and they only provide a constant pressure rather than more or less depending on your engine's RPM. All in all a cheap nitrous like effect that you don't have to refill. It would be nice to develop an electronic supercharger that maintains PSI with your RPM vs. one constant PSI.

Interesting product. I've been reading some user reviews of the e-ram and it seems like a reasonable alternative to a new air intake. I don't know how we would connect one to the dual intakes of the Crossfire other than getting 2 of the inline e-rams and connecting one to each tube. That would probably draw too much juice from the battery though.
What's really interesting is their horsepower claims over what some people think a cold air intake will do. After reading their claims, I'm not sure a new air intake will give us more than 5 or 6 HP.

What you need to figure out is how much air the 3.2L motor draws in under WOT conditions. You would be doing yourself a disservice if the motors draws more than the 750cfm capable from these fans.
On that note, I just purchased the plans from esuperchargers.com and I'll be the guinnea pig. I plan on modifying the V2 setup considerably, though. We'll see what happens.

The file I downloaded included plans for two different types of setups - there's the V1 which called for an 8000rpm motor. They said this was for lower displacement engines. The V2 calls for a 24,000rpm motor for the guys upwards of 2.5-3L. I found some nice brushless 50,000rpm motors, however, which I will implement in my design.

It looks like I'm going to have to order some parts off various websites. While the webpage says the parts are available at Home Depot, the instructions provide links to online stores where you can actually purchase the motor and fan necessary to build the thing.
The motor I was looking at getting is $250 alone. I don't think I'm ready yet to make that kind of commitment on something that might not even work, so I'll stick with the $70 they recommend in the instructions.
Hopefully I can get the parts ordered up soon, though. I'll keep you posted.

I talked to them this morning almost a 1/2 hour! this sytem only works on full throttle.maybe 5-10 hp he told me.Only on full throttle.He does know alot about air intakes and airpressure.Very smart guy.
