Re: TPMS - Yeah baby!
I have seen recently ads from companies that will sell you TPMS sensors that are OEM "clones". I'm not sure how they differ from aftermarket alternatives that arguably are a "clone" as well. Something new is happening in the aftermarket TPMS world that I would like to learn more about. Can anyone chime in with more knowledge?
Re: TPMS - Yeah baby!
I've seen ads for "programmable" sensors.. but figured your installer had best be able to program them.. which means track one down..jump over here..jump over there..
Being able to walk in with them in hand ready to go sounds a whole lot simpler. Doesn't make it foolproof.. but should increase the odds of success on the first shot.. LOL

Well mine are still kicking.. so I can get them read at a discount tire store and provide him with that information.
I "think" 180 had said at one point the ID was labeled on the sensor itself.. ?
Oh.. He quoted me a price of $200 shipped and ready to install. Guess that's not to far out of line when you consider a trip to dealer and that hassle..

Re: TPMS - Yeah baby!
I've got a set of "new" style sensors coming in Friday that this company is offering along with the "pre programmed" sets. Basically I'm the test dummy here.. LOL.
Looking to get my wheels (Johns old wilhelm's) and sensors mounted up next weekend. These are a "set" ID and will require me to take a trip to the dealer for computer settings.
Since I'm not sure about the ID being labeled on the sensor itself, I look at this as an option for dead sensors (or "missing") where you can't retrieve the ID.
I've been given a price of $156 a set with free shipping on these.. option of black or chrome stems. Will let you guys know how things go on this.
Additional Information: Hurt my feelings with a 2 year warranty.. LOL..
also..... Sensor comes with a 2 year manufacturer warranty. Battery is not active until sensors is programed.

It is just rotator cuff surgery. I have never had any kind of real surgery before or missed more than 2 weeks work in my life... I guess I am getting old... Thanks though... I could use some TPMS sensors for the '08 E-350 MB I just bought. I guess I should call the guy and see what they would cost...The XF can wait...as they just get driven to cars shows for the most part. Only been to the track once this year...

Here's you a link to the website Doc.. You sound a lot like me ... I don't even have a doctor per say.. LOL. Wife did list one on the health care stuff.. "could " get glasses for a song and dance.. probably could use them.. but I'll worry about that in another 10 yrs or so..
