I'm guessing transmission problems and the car has gone into the transmission limp mode. Limp mode uses only one tranny speed (second and reverse I believe) and the revs are limited to prevent trouble.

Probably a problem on the electrical plate assembly if my guess is correct.

If you have a warranty, then it's a dealer thing. Those plates ain't cheap, and the DIY ain't easy, not to mention it's a messy job.
If you DO get it done under warranty, make sure they also change the filter and flush / change the fluid.

Thumbs up Re: my 2004 loss of power

Thank you for the input , just got off the phone with the dealer , its close enough for the warranty , so I guess that's where its going to go , and I will make sure and tell them to flush the system too . you guys are the bomb , thanks again , will keep you updated , just found out we get a rental car too . not bad 100.00 deductible , worth it I guess , anyway have a good day .
