What would cause this?
Got in the XFire this AM, started it up...seemed to take a couple of extra revs to get it started...let it idle for about 30 seconds, shut if off, restarted it, let it idle about 2 minutes, then headed out of the complex. I get to the street, and give it what I call a 'normal' amount of throttle, and it felt totally different (always wondered how you guys got to burn rubber!) Then, when I got the the light, it sputtered for about two seconds, then ran normally again, except for the gas mileage, which Torque was indicating was off...
Gotta get the Bosch, just about anything else will result in problems. They can be found at Amazon for about $40. I don't have the PN handy but a search will turn it up.
I just bought this one.

No problems with my OEM CPS yet but I know it is just a problem waiting to happen . . .
Got the spark plug wire that was loose on the back passenger side (the hard one!) put back on properly...seems to be running OK, except for what seems to be some shakin' going on under the hood when the car is in drive and idling (I was checking the transmission fluid).
Thanks for the tip...I will have to look around...car seems to run OK, and I don't hear any noises coming from under the hood.
You know if you do have fuel problems...running it out of gas does tend to heat up a fuel pump since the fuel is actually used to keep the pump cool. You may have damaged the pump...but right now, it sounds like it may be something simple. But I would keep that in the back of my mind if it doesn't iron itself out. I would change the fuel filter and the pump at that point. Good luck...
Well, the good thing is, it isn't in the tank like some are, but they will still heat up, and pick up all the crud left on the bottom the tank...so, you never know...
