My turn, no start
I'm going to play with the old one to see if I can get it working. I only re soldered the 3 contacts that are the usual suspects. I didn't order the cheapest, I ordered the quickest to arrive I could find. I mean, I have a race this weekend, I can't miss one of those! ($197 shipped 2nd day air) Every single error these cars are prone to have, have touched me. I'd better do the sticky key fix, it's bound to bite me in the future. The knowledge base is a gold mine and life saver.

I had an interesting thought. On my most recent vacation I spent some time in Hungary and they spoke of all the cars they used to build in their country. After the Soviet Union melt down foreign companies purchased all the local industry and closed them down including the auto manufacturers. They hate the large foreign car companies for that, including MB. My RCM was made in Hungary. Hummmm.

Disconnecting the battery doesn't change anything. I'm charging up the race battery. The brand new one started the car twice but that's not enough for me. It could be new/defective. So far I've checked all the connections in the engine compartment, took the styrofoam out of the trunk and inspected. I found some dirt and a crispy dead bug or two but no evidence of moisture of any kind at any time. Pulled out the TCU to make sure all the connections were good. (last thing I messed with 2 months ago) Tomorrow, time permitting, I'm getting under the car to check the fuel pump and then starter connections. Next to last thing I had apart was the pump. The starter motor connections because I've been hearing a slight rattle lately from somewhere up front that I haven't been able to locate. If all that is a bust I'll start calling the local dealerships and my help network to see who has a diagnostic ability for my car. Feeling sad.

Les has it running again.
Dunno, I'll polish of some Polish vodka while I think about it.
Nostrovia.
That's a Polish toast, but I prefer toast with marmalade.

My wheels are made in china, assembled in the USA. My original glass got cracked by a rock on track so I also have a Chinese windshield. ($225.00 installed) During my painful parked car episode the keys locked and unlocked the doors. Disconnecting the battery didn't result in any change so I figured it wasn't the SKREEM.
