Default Washer reservoir leak?

Decided to check the fluids today and when I went to top off the washer fluid I noticed a growing puddle running down from the inner fender and dripping off along the passenger sill. I don't feel like pulling the inner fender right now to eyeball it but was wondering if anyone has had issues with theirs? The low fluid level is NOT illuminated so I guess it's holding some fluid. The pump motor/washers work and I noticed also I have the original VARTA battery in this '04. Any helpful hints?

You likely overfilled it, it just leaks at the neck due to the design... There's a pic somewhere, but the long and short of it is, we've all done it, and chances are it's fine

Could be you are right. I did come across a great write up with pictures in how to replace the reservoir just in case,(on this board no less). Seems that there may be a design flaw in the mounting of the tank that causes a leak with time. Eventually I will take a look. Thanks.

Been there, done that when I saw that post years ago. Mine was just starting to develop a crack, big ole washer and some epoxy and no mo problems.

Did you add fluid before you saw the leak? If so you overfilled it, I think this is what happened.
If it was leaking before you added any then the area where it is supported is cracked.
I would suggest that anyone who takes theirs out for any reason adds a large washer under the tank to spread the load a bit more evenly, I added silicone to mine as well.
It is a good idea to look at the reservoir as leaves and dirt from the area under the windshield drains there and mine had a lot of muck and little leaves there. I removed the reservoir and hosed it down. It would be a good spot for rust to start. At the time my car had about 21,000 miles on it, so it can build up fast.
