Default Running Those G35'S all day......

Hey guys whats up, I literally just walked in the door after tearing up a g35 coupe. I was on my way to my girlfriends house here in orlando and I was on the 408 toll road when a little 240sx pulls up and initiates and i just let him go and get back to my radio. All of a sudden 5 min later a g35 comes flying up on my bumper, gets next to me and hits it. I drop to 3rd at about 70 grab his bumper and we are off... we were stuck there until about 100-105mh where the xfire consistantly kills the g35s, I pulled away with no problem, we weaved in and out of traffic for about 10 miles at about 100-130 up and down and finally he rolls the window down and compliments the xfire on the incredible top end. Now, the chip will have to go in to help out the mid range, any of you that have he upsolute chip let me know how you like the response in the mid range.

Im suprised you having beened flamed from some of the say "Other" guys yet. But from one perfomance nut to another, good kill. Try and race a 350z on the highway, because I had the opposite outcome. Lost to a 350z put a couple car lengths on me then kept creeping away. Have fun, and watch out for bacon.

Good work, but I'm kinda surprised the Crossfire won since the G35 engine is the same as what is in the 350z. Must have been the driving. ;-)

i have ran many g35's but like I said it was all top end.. if you are not sure if you can run a g35 top end go ahead and run one for fun, but you can have the confidence that you will pull them by many cars...

Were you (the guy with a higher top end than the G35) running a stock non SRT Coupe?

The Crossfire's top end is electronically limited to 150.

The G35 Coupe's is electronically limited to 155.

Not saying you did not beat the guy in your little blvd blast, but given that you two were supposedly weaving in and out of traffic at speeds in excess of 100 mph, my guess is that it had more to do with driver timidity or a sudden attack of common sense than your car actually being faster than the G35, which according to all stats and tests it isn't...unless it's an SRT6.

no, i raced the z like i said above but your right most the time it is all about the driver. the z and me were 6pd to 6spd and we both took off in 2nd and i think we both know the z has better performance than the g. by the way my xfire is limited at 150! that sucks cus going to work at 3am the other day i was at 140 than shifted to 6th what the hell 10 mph for the last gear!! i read the car should do 163 @ 6100 rpm..later

everyone keeps saying its limited to 150 top end, but i ran mine to 155 and it didnt cut out, the ride was so damn smooth i was fumbling in my pocket to pull my phone out to take a picture too, so i think the 150 limitation is either bullshit or only on the 05's, also i just walked in the door from san deigo to brea and i outran a mazda 6 on the way home (no bragging there, it was given) also a g35, AND a 350z, but i think the Z wasnt giving its all, it was a interesting drive but i thought that maybe the g35 wasnt giving its all either till i read these posts. i was ahead by at least 8 cars from 80mph to 130mph, who knows, my brother has a g35, i'll see if i can get him to run me one day.

I think the Acceleration after 30-50 mph is very close in XF vs 350 maybe even quicker in the right gears!

My '04 definitely is not limited to 150 (assuming the speedo is actually accurate). Also, this post was nice to read so now I can go shut my boss up with confidence when running his G.
