It goes behind the door where the wiring harness feeds over from the passenger compartment up over into the rear area of the car. If you raise the rear deck (like to put the top down) and look in there you'll see where the wiring harness comes through. That rubber piece is basically a sound insulator to keep noise from the rear compartment from coming into the passenger compartment. It doesn't just pop back into place and there is nothing really holding it in place. I had to put glue around the contact edges then insert it in place. Let me know if you don't understand and I'll get a photo and post it here for you.

RD has it nailed, Pulling the edge of the carpet away from the bulkhead behind the seats just below the window height you will see these neatly filling the hole for the harness going to the trunk. I have had both out and found it impossible to put them back neatly. They are somehow jammed in there now.

If not too much to ask, I would like to see it on that photo. Because I have looked for it opening the rear while raising the top, but could not see it.
I've checked in my Limited. The insulation I found is from my SRT6.
I have photos of this.
These are by the passenger door and you can see the door latch on the left in one picture which gives you an idea of the location.
