Default Code PO335 problems

Hey everyone,

04 Crossfire, still getting code po335 after installing a new Bosch. Car starts, runs, until I drive it and shut it off. Turns over, just won't start. If I wait an hour, it starts. Sometimes it dies while driving along. I installed a new ECM already. 55 lbs. of fuel pressure at the rail even when it won't start. Is that about right? CPS connector looks ok. New territory for me. Thanks for the help.

I've heard the connector is an issue. Try cleaning the contacts?

If you are getting a P0335 it means the PTCM is seeing oddball, nonsense data from the Crank sensor. This is either an issue with the connector or the sensor itself.

I would try another new CPS, you are describing almost exactly how they act when they fail. Are you SURE this is a BOSCH part? It sounds like it is one of those Chinese knockoffs from Autozone or Advanced.

I got mine here: https://www.germanautosupply.com/sto...sensor-95.html

Now, I suppose that, if the Cam Position sensor was lying, then the PTCM might not be able to tell which sensor is bad and blame the wrong sensor - I just can't say for sure.

And your fuel pressure is fine.

My problem wasn't fixed by a new CPS at first (P0335). So I cleaned the connector and put the old one back in with some dielectric grease. I snapped and unsnapped the plug a bunch of times and viola! Yes, it could be that easy.

Honestly I wonder if that isn't the problem as much as the sensor failing. I have seen similar issues on other cars in the past, just "checking" the item makes it work. I wonder how many people, after replacing it, and having the car work fine, go back and put the "failed" one back in and test.
