Default Problem with belt, noise from Engine bay (videos)

So after 2 years with my SRT-6 it's the very first time I have a problem

The problem began yesterday, I turn on the car and heard a squealing noise coming from the Engin bay at IDLE (Dont know if the noise was present when driving, because of road noise)

I tried to record it, unfortunately it as not easy.

Then Today, I turned on the car and I got a scary noise: more like *clak* *clak* type knocking
I recorded it and checked under the hood and saw a "loose" part on the front belt

I dont know if these 2 problems are related but I dont know what to do, it's my daily driver so getting to work tomorrows scares me.

Here is the videos

1 - First attempt to record squealing noise yesterday ( audible between second 3 and second 7)

2 - Constant and loud *clak* noise coming from the engine jut after turning on the car today

3 - Video of the belt and the "loose" part

I really hope its not a big problem

Thanks you all guys

Oh sorry I gonna fix that

Done you should be able to access the video

I got advices on Facebook and they told me that it's the Water Pump

So i checked on the forum and found that the Replacement part for the SRT-6 is this one:

Water Pump - SRT6 - three outlets.
Mercedes part#112 200 13 01

The cheapest one I found so far is this one ($181 + $75 of core charge) and its not even new, its rebuild
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...r-112200130188

I have no idea how much a garage will charge for labor. But it seems that it will be at least a $500 total bill

And check the crankshaft pulley also.
But most likely the water pump.

either you water pump pulley mounting bolts are about to fall out and thus the pulley is about to fall off, or the waterpump is bad internally. yes the srt6 water pump is an expensive one, I can get you a new one but not for the 180 price you found for a refurb+core

Thanks all,

I will not drive the car anymore, I will tow it to the garage

About the price of the WaterPump I found this one on CARID
Cardone® 55-83333 - Engine Water Pump

Which is the Cardone New (not rebuild) #55-83333, it's only 124$ which is very surprising.

or here
Amazon.com: Cardone Select 55-83333 New Water Pump: Automotive Amazon.com: Cardone Select 55-83333 New Water Pump: Automotive
$130

Do you think it's the good fit ? It seems to be the good one for the SRT-6

See, you got the same answer here you got on Facebook, except that I told you over there that you could gently drive the car to the garage and a more cautious and experienced Rob told you not to!

Keep in mind, at just over 100,000 miles my belt tensioner and idler puller were dying. I'd change all three items, the pulley is like $15 and the tensioner was only around $120. They'v got to dig in there anyway, the labor shouldn't be much more - but if you need to take it back in six months, the labor will hit you harder.

Crank pulley? Probably a good idea to take a look at that as well, tho I'd not have thought of it.

Yes it's probably the Water Pump like you said, the towing truck gonna be here in half and hour, so I am preparing myself to not get screwed by the garage with part and labor prices.

My SRT-6 has only 39.000miles, but I could definitely see with the garage if they could check the pulley and the tensioner too.

But right now my priority is being sure to find the perfect fit and price for the Water Pump so the garage will not over charge me

Ok so I got the garage on the phone and they confirm that they gonna change the water pump. They say thats its difficult to find the mercedes part (112 200 13 01 88)so I told them to get the cardone part (55-83333)

I never had to deal with cardone, do you think its ok to use it ?

I have used Cardone in the past, mainly remanufactured CV joint axles. I think they are a major remanufactures supplier. SOme NAPA stuff is Cardone, that kind of thing.

My wife came home yesterday and said the crossfire was making a noise. Lifted the hood and the water pump pulley is doing this exact same thing. I tightened the bolts and still wiggles and makes noise.
Did the Amazon waterpump fit? what did the shop charge you.
Thanks

I have used Cardone, or I should say I tried to use them. I ordered a master cylinder from them and it did not have the correct set up of fittings on it as one of the inlets was not drilled out. They swore up and down that it was the correct part for the Crossfire and that I was wrong. I still had the OEM part on the car but they said it had to have been changed at one point, I explained that the service manual showed my part, no the guy said I must be mistaken. Obviously I was dealing with someone who considered their parts list as perfect. The part went back to them and I got one from Jim at the Crossfire Shop on here. There actually was nothing wrong with my MC anyway.
The parts manual shows the parts that make up the water pump assembly, using the part numbers shown theoretically one could rebuild the pump yourself if no damage has occurred to the main casting and spindle. Back in the day it was quite common to replace the rotating seal which was a carbon like material if I recall correctly, the bearings and seals could all be replaced. This was before the disposable society we live in now and before compsnies like Cardone sprang up from little back street repair shops.
