Default Crossfire headlight lens mod

I've seen a few Crossfire's with the healigght lens cover taken off and supposedly it doesn't hurt them because they are still encased. I was thinking about doing this, will they still work in the rain? Have you guys heard of this?

I've been around Crossfires for about 9 years now and I've never heard or seen such a thing. Once you remove the plastic lens, every bulb is now exposed to the elements. My $0.02 ......not a good idea.

I have even had some apart and I assure you there is no 'inner lens', just the black case glued to the clear lens.

[So the headlight bulbs just hang out? No protection? When I look at them it looks like the halos encase the lights?

They are H7 bulbs. The 'halo' thing is just a silver painted plastic surround of the projector lens.
Yours must be really cloudy if you cannot see this detail clearly, search for 'headlight lens' on this forum.

Are you sure it's the lens that's tinted, and not stick-on lens protectors ?

I saw it on YouTube honestly lol guy said the lights even work in the rain and he hasn't had problems. They're supposedly all covered but the parking lamp.
