Be Wary Of Online Companies
Dear forum members:
I'm starting to notice a trend with "Crossfire" aftermarket parts vendors that seems to be less than professional IMO.
As many of us know, certain Crossfire shops who started a few years ago had some problems delivering the products they advertised on the internet. Now, that trend is continuing with technical, suspension, braking and engine modifications.
Please be very wary of any company that has now started to advertise specific modifications for the Crossfire. In my research, I have found that many will immediately respond that they have modded the SLK320 and many other MB models. But, when asked to provide specs on the SLK320 vs. Crossfire, they are at a loss.
I can safely say, stay away from BERGWERKS as they have shut down their facility and even though they have a large internet presence, they no longer have a facility to perform the work and have led me on a two month process of changing my differential from 3.27:1 to 3.69:1.
I have also had numerous conversations with other vendors who purport to have extensive experience in modding MB cars, but cannot provide the specifications of the modifications I requested. Nor can they verify the crossover parts from other MB models or aftermarket parts, even though they have stated they would have the information within 24 hours and return my call.
I'm still waiting for the calls !!! and the crossover specifications !!!
In my humble and often overbearing opinion, be very careful. As we have found out, not even $1,000 forum giveaways are what they appear to be.
This is only my humble opionion. CYA when you're dealing with vendors who purport to have aftermarket modifications or products for the Crossfire!!!

It seems like everyone is trying to ride the import tuner wave by trying to sell aftermarket junk. I guess that's why companies like Renntech are so expensive, because they have actual engineers working for them and they know what they are doing. Good luck with the gear change.

I have been trying to connect with StarTech people about this contest but I only have Europe office info. Does anyone know if there is an office here in U.S. If so, appreciate email or phone #.

I won't even guess about HP gain #'s as I never had the car dyno'd before the install.

If you're talking about the sway bars for the SLK320 / Crossfires vs. those of the SLK32 AMG / SRT6. Again, what is the difference that creates the stiffer suspension? Seeing that they are the same external diameter, are they hollow vs. solid, do they have longer/ shorter control arms ?
Lastly, we're talking about switching the rotors and calipers from the SLK32 AMG / SRT6 to the SLK320 / Crossfire. Do you know if the atachment points are the same, clearances etc.?
So, easy switch? Gimme the answers big guy...
air intakes for stock intakes for dyno your last post.
The rear ends have been done before but I'm sorry I don't know who right now. Guys used to change 400Es to Euro spects, it made them feel like 500 Es.

Oh!!! The air intake switch was a pain in the as* since it was prototype from SASKINS, but now that he has the attachment points, bends and connections dialed-in, I'm sure it is moments away from a PLUG-AND-PLAY system. Nothing that your DIY mechanic can't handle...
As far as dyno, I'm not spending the money... Just like you didn't spend the money to have your car dyno'd before and after your car was chipped by EuroRev.
