2005 Roadster Top Not Working, HELP!!
I have a 2005 limited roadster, and it has recently been acting up when I try to lower the convertible top. When I push the button, the windows go down as they normally should, but the top simply unlatches and does not go down. After that, I can't get the top to relatch itself, nor to lower. The motor for the system just whines as if it were working, but the top stays unlatched and does not move. When it did this before, it would start beeping after a while and it would work after about 20 minutes. Now it doesn't beep, and there is no flashing light on the button. I have no experience with any of this, and this is my first post to this forum. I apologize if this is the wrong section, I'm just looking for help. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
This sounds like a hydraulic leak.
Have you checked the level in the reservoir ?
( it is hidden in the very rear on the drivers side )

And if I can't, then pizzaguy can.
Thank you for the speedy reply. I have not checked the fluid level, and I will get back to you as soon as I do. My trunk is obstructed by the hanging portion of the unlatched top, so it might take some ingenuity for me to get it open.
You were correct. When I finally did manage to get the top to function (it started working on its own after a day of not touching it) I left the tonneau cover up and saw that the hydraulic system (the two pistons that I could see) was completely covered in fluid. It obviously is leaking. While it did respond this time, it definitely struggled like it never has before. I had to press the switch several times because it would completely stop trying. What do I do from here? I'm not exactly swimming in money, so I'd hope that it's an inexpensive fix... Any further advice is highly appreciated!
Depends on your definition of inexpensive.
Klaus at tophydraulicsinc.com in Oregon will do a complete 5 cylinder and 2 lock rebuild for around $750.
That's WAY cheap compared to dealer prices for new cylinders that would still have the inferior OEM seals.
Full set of 7 Crossfire Cylinders to be rebuilt for less than the price of 6 - send in your cylinders first - Top Hydraulics, Inc

Thank you, ala_xfire. I apologize for the extremely late reply (life has been in the way). It turns out that my pistons are indeed leaking and I have to get them fixed. I was hoping that it would be an inexpensive fix, but another $800-ish dollars on this car..? (--_--) I swear my Crossfire hates me! I've replaced the transmission (with a brand new one), repainted the car, changed the pulley system, changed the leaky coolant tank and the leaky head gasket... I've NEVER abused this car! UGH! I'm going to start racing the damn thing, that'll learn it.
I don't know how to operate the top manually. Is there a video, or a list of instructions? Also. I couldn't help but notice the beautiful wind deflector that you have on your red crossfire. I have a blue led wind deflector that has the Crossfire Roadster and the Logo.

Thanks! XD
I actually do have some pictures set up, but I guess people can't see them because my settings are set to friends. I'll adjust the settings for that set of pictures.
