no, its not hard at all. and yes i did use the pre-outs instead of the speaker outputs. the XF has an external amplifier separate from the stock head unit.

you will need a Scosche VW01 wiring harness adapter and a Metra 40-EU10 antenna adapter.

Cool ! I like the look and I was looing at the 550, not much different ?!

So if I use the pre-out it should not create the distortion everyone has been talking about ?!
Or kiil the OEM amp.

What a load of crap, you buy a car like this, they charge you 800 for the radio and you wind up change it it !!!

Thanks for the info !

thats not hard either. pull up on the shifter surround and youll expose the shifter. theres a plastic nut that hold the **** on. unscrew it and wiggle the **** and itll come off.

Did you have any problems installing the shift ****? Did it just slip right on?

the shift **** came with 5 or 6 inserts, depending on the diameter of the shifter. slip the best-fitted rubber insert on the shifter and push the **** down. tighten the three set screws, then screw in the base (under the boot). this was the toughest part, because i wanted to get the shift boot in there evenly and tight. probably took about 15 minutes.
