Question HVAC fan issues

Okay my HVAC fan speed control seems to change speed on it's own, not at every speed level, but at a couple of them. It will speed up and slow down. If I jiggle the rotary dial I can get it to change speeds as well. I have removed the unit and done the repair suggested by CL770. I have also replaced the fan motor resistor. Neither fixed the issue. Any other ideas ? Is there a way to clean the rotary switch ?

Mine does the same thing occasionally, but not enough to be concerned yet. I spin the rotary switch up and down a few times and it is ok for some time. I am sure it will get worse with time. Please keep us informed of your findings.

Thanks, James

There is a fix that was posted by a new member some little while ago. Basically he said that the connection of the front plate and the PCB behind it was poor and caused trouble. I'll look for the fix and post it in this post.
Try this fix. CLICK

I see some online sellers claim the HVAC control unit they have will only work in an automatic transmission car. Looking in the Crossfire parts catalog, I only see on part number listed for this part. Is there a different part number for manual cars?

no reason why there would be two different parts.
